Access & deployment drill three (Pikal):

Here the pen is drawn in the reverse grip (Pikal) position. All attacks from here are made with a downward ice pick motion followed by ripping back in towards you.

As the pen is drawn you make a cross fend position with arms from here one hand goes out into a Tiger's claw leaving you in an ideal position to cycle in with the pen.

 
Here is the same Pikal draw in shown application during the heated interview stage of a potential confrontation. Here Daryl uses deception (by pretending that he can't hear what his aggressor is saying) as he turns away slightly in order to disguise the access to his pen.

Daryl draws and cross covers as Simon encroaches on his space; from here he strikes out with a Tiger's jab into the face followed immediately by the cycling attack using the pen in a Pikal formation.
