Elliott is an Apprentice Instructor in UC, currently holding grade 2 rank directly from Lee Morrison. But is verse with all things self protection and UC. Elliott has a Bachelor’s degree in Security Consultancy, as well as a foundation degree in Applied Computing. He has been training since the age of 6yrs old in martial methods and combat sports. Elliott is a 1st Dan Black Belt under Geoff Thompson, BCA. A qualified Krav Maga under Itay Gil, Lvl 3 advanced CQC trainer under (Ex) UK SBS special forces CQC trainer and Kings medel recipient. Lvl 3 advanced certificate in security risk management from the security Institute and holds Associate membership (ASyI).
BTEC Lvl 3 Self Defence instructor, use of force and risk management qualifications from NFPS Ltd. Aswell as other qualifications, Elliott considers himself a student, cross training in many systems/methods, but ultimately truly focused on self protection and personal security, due to having been brought up around violence and surviving being shot at, kidernapped, jumped (by multiple assailant’s) and stabbed, which left him having to battle against disability and PTSD. These experiences have fostered a mindset and thirst for knowledge which have only been quenched by UC and has enhanced Elliott into a instructor who is passionate about helping others learn, integrate and apply security practices and assymetrical combative skills.
Like many I started my martial training in traditional Karate but didn’t really take to it. After trying several styles I landed on Taekwondo where I remained for several years including 2 years on the competitive circuit. After a hiatus from training I started up Kick Boxing but after several scrapes, lucky escapes and near misses with violence and with the now added responsibility of a family, I began to look for something more adaptable to the real world and came across Krav Maga, where I trained and studied for the next 4 years. Alongside this I took up competitive white collar boxing and then in 2017 after researching UC and reading it’s material, I started training with Lee Morrison which completely changed my perspective and direction. Since then I have dedicated myself as a student along this journey and have been fortunate enough to work alongside Lee on both national and international seminars as well as with solo projects, Zoom classes and online lecture presentations. After passing as a full instructor on the 2022 IDP my focus and motivation now is to help train anybody interested in combatives and self protection whilst continuing my own growth and development. I am available for 1 to 1 training, small groups and classes.

Varan Combatives is providing Self Protection for men, women and children, and is affiliated with Lee Morrison’s Urban Combatives.
My name is Vlad. I am a secondary teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, but importantly a Full Instructor of UC (Urban Combatives) and UC Wolverine Unleashed! which is the Self Protection Program for Women.
I have been training with Jamie Miller (1st generation UC Senior Full Instructor and UC UK Head Instructor) since 2018. I attended various UC seminars and UC UK Instructor Development Program 2021-22.
I love fitness which I have been actively doing since teenage and it plays a vital part in my training. My early experience with combat sports was training with my brother who was a Slovak National Champion in Kickboxing. Since then, I have explored different martial arts and combat systems such as Wing Chun, Traditional Dragon style Kung-fu, Krav Maga, K1, and finally principle-based method UC.
It is UC that I found to be the most effective when narrowing the gap between training and dealing with real street violence.
I offer Small group or Private tuition within Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, or Hertfordshire area as I am based in Leighton Buzzard.
I also assist in teaching at Jamie Miller’s UC adult class on Thursdays at Elite Training Centre in Leighton Buzzard from 8.00 pm till 9.45 pm.

Like a lot of people of George’s generation his first experience of martial arts was kick-boxing in the ‘80’s, which Geroge did sporadically until he started a family. Apart from a brief spell doing Wing Chun he didn’t train again until a life experience made him question his beliefs on protecting his family. This lead him to train Krav Maga for about 18 months.
Whilst recovering from a sprained ankle he found Urban Combatives on YouTube. He was blown away by the direct nature and mindset of the training, along with the fact everything was pressure tested to a high degree. George immediately sought out the founder, Lee Morrison and arranged to visit for weekly private lessons, this carried on until Lee reopened his Southampton class. Since then George have trained on a regular basis with Lee and Craig.
George became a Level 1 Instructor at the 2023 IDP, three years after his first training session with Lee. George is available for private lessons at weekends and evenings.

Since I was 12 years old I was training in jujitsu and judo. Then around 16 years of Age I made a transition to Boxing and Thai boxing, competing sometime later. This gave me a good understanding of striking and kicking. Experiencing Multiple fights against multiple subjects on the street and the door gave me new insights and understanding between the difference of Martial arts/combat sports and real violence.
My full-time Job as a doorman/supervisor and Intervention team member (for festivals and events) showed me the need to adapt the stuff that I learned in sport so that it worked for me under stress. Because of this need to adapt, I started to analyse what worked and what didn’t! I quickly realized that it came down to keeping things simple and acquiring the right MINDSET!
At the time I was already training in Krav Maga and I found out soon, that for me, nothing came out under real fight stress. I contacted Lee M to ask If he had Somebody in Holland to teach me UC.
I followed Lee Morrison for years on the international seminar circuit and started training with him directly when possible, so that I could grade and come on the UC Instructor program. Many hours of blood, sweat and tears later I am proud to call myself a Full UC Instructor, representing the UC curriculum in Amsterdam and Holland.

Romain started practicing Taekwondo in 2002 and captured 4 successive French national titles before taking second place in the World championship in 2006. Then, he taught this martial art for some years before serving 5 years in the French Army as a non-commissionned officer in an Airborne Regiment.
Then, he has been a fitness coach and still is.He, however, realized that traditional Martial Arts and basic self-defense are not the best solutions to deal with the high level of stress in a real violent confrontation. That is why he became a FAST Defense instructor in 2013 and at the same time decided to train in Urban Combatives.
Finally, in 2023, after seminars in England, Belgium and France, he succefully became a UC instructor level 1, through the IDP – Instructor Development Program – in Poole, England.
Since then, he also teaches tactical first aid and works as a close protection officer.
Romain’s main objective is to teach people combatives skills to enable them to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Romain runs a monthly workshop in Aix-en-Provence, near Marseille, France. He is also available for private training and seminars in France.

after 2013, I invited Lee several times to Walferdange and visited his UC-seminars in

I have spent about 13 years in different combat sports both on training and a competitive level.
What I’ve spent time fully dedicated to the last 5 years is ICCS Krav Maga (Offensively Fighting based), Thai Boxing and Urban Combatives.
I researched for many years and looked after something that I felt really met the criteria that’s needed to face modern violence, for most people.
Fighting based systems are great to build character and confidence but it misses the parts UC takes up. The pre-fight and post fight stage.
My confidence in passing over methods of dealing with violence comes from growing up.
I had to fight a lot, starting in school and instead of getting distanced to it, I embraced it.
With the years it got more violent and I started to see other things than adrenaline kicks.
Violence is a horrible thing and I would gladly help you to become a harder target and teach you the essential skills and methods to be able to avoid, face and handle modern violence.

He also conducts seminars on self-protection, home invasion/defense and active incident trainings.
Keith’s introduction to “reality-based combatives” was through Tim Larkin’s Target Focus Training. He developed his interest in Krav Maga through Nir Maman, former Chief Counter-Terror and Krav Maga Instructor for the IDF Counter-Terror and Special Operations School. Keith has also studied the Instinctive Close Quarters Combat System developed by Special Operations and Security Expert, Glenn Boodry. He has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Gracie Combatives, and Krav Maga under Mr. Kirk McTaggert at Kick Masters Karate, LLC. Keith considers himself a student.
He has sought out training with some of the best in the combatives community to ensure that what he studies and what he instructs has been pressure tested and proven effective under the duress of the street or combat.
This passion is what led Keith to train numerous times with Lee Morrison of Urban Combatives and with former Marine and Special Operations Officer, J. Kelly McCann of Kembativz Brand. Recently, Keith attended Kelly McCann’s Kembativz Instructor Program where he earned the title of Assistant Instructor. His day time job is as the Safety and Security Coordinator at Berlin Brothersvalley School District.
